Such a delightful story with great pictures. When baby bear thinks he sees a dragon in his grandparents basement, he starts dreaming about a real dragon coming into the house. Milk and Cookies by Frank Asch // Another childhood favorite of mine. I love this book even still (but skip the movies because they are very weird). There is something magical about the town of Chewandswallow where all the food comes in the weather. This was my absolute favorite book when I was a kid. Such a lovely read and, again, lovely illustrations.Ĭloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett // This list would be incomplete with out this book. When he has to stay home with a cold, his animal friends make plans to take care of him. Such a fun book to read aloud and it has a board book version!Ī Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip C Steed // This pictures in this book are absolutely beautiful! Amos McGee is a zookeeper and loves visiting all his friends at the zoo. Mr Horse gives a ride to all his friends in the barnyard and it is more exciting than planned. My preschooler loves this book especially!Ĭlip Clop by Nicola Smee // This is a favorite at our house lately especially with my two year old. We even get 5 responses that kids can take out of the book and read. This is the story of a boy who finds a dragon in his house and writes several letters asking about how to take care of his new pet. Such a fun read!ĭragon Post by Emma Yarlett // Another interactive book from Emma Yarlett. In this interactive picture book, Nibbles finds his way into several classic fairy tales and causes all sorts of mischief.

Nibbles: The Book Monster by Emma Yarlett // A good friend of mine introduced me to Nibbles and we love him at our house! Nibbles loves to eat books. They each fall into the well and the misadventure that ensues is such fun! Another book with a great audiobook! Tikki Tikki Tembo by Arlene Mosel // Another classic story about two brothers–one with a long name and one with a short name. And it is so fun! Mr and Mrs Bird go looking for a new nest only to find perhaps an old nest is the best after all. Eastman // I discovered this book on a list for preschoolers. In fact, there are several books about Strega Nona and they are all clever stories! My kids love Strega Nona and the audiobook is great as well! The story is longer so better for older toddlers and preschoolers rather than babies. Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola // This classic story introduces readers to Strega Nona (“Grandma Witch”) and her magic pasta pot.
